things about me
I have a degree in Translation and Interpreting, a postgraduate degree in Literary Translation, a master’s degree in Secondary Education (specialising in English). I have diplomas in legal translation, telecommunications, proofreading (Spanish), website translation, terminology management, post-editing, translation memory management…
I use a wide range of translation software and management tools, such as Trados, MemoQ, TransitNXT, Across and OmegaT for computer-assisted translation. In addition, I use XBench for quality control and terminology management, Gespoint Translator for invoicing management and, of course, Office and LibreOffice for word processing and presentation tasks.
I consider myself an inquisitive, attentive and intuitive person. I’m interested in everything and I’m lucky that my profession allows me to poke my nose into a multitude of subjects: art, literature, engineering, technology, history, philosophy… My daily goal? To be, to act and to feel like a good professional.
what i do
I offer translation services from German, Dutch and English into Spanish and Catalan, manage translation projects, proofread texts and give classes. In addition, I regularly attend courses on aspects related to publishing or translation. I continue to brush up my Dutch, English and German, because languages are like the sea: infinite and ever-changing. And, of course, I don’t neglect Spanish or Catalan either. For the past few months I have been participating in a writing course at the Lolita Campus.
translations
I offer professional translation into Spanish and Catalan from German, Dutch and English (books, manuals, essays, software, HMI, marketing texts, contracts, European legislation, press articles, press releases, etc.), and I also prepare reading reports for publishing houses.
Translation project management
I am in charge of managing translation projects, from budget to final delivery: finding human and technical resources, delivery control, quality management and on-time delivery, etc.
Proofreading
I am in charge of proofreading texts in Spanish for publication, ensuring consistency of terminology, correct punctuation and impeccable presentation of the texts.
language training
I offer language training in English, German and Catalan as second foreign languages, providing the necessary tools for the mastery of these languages to my valued students.
my projects
Novels, essays, informative books, biographies, stories, in short, that allow me to discover, know, enjoy and get to know places and people, real or imagined, to which I would never have had access otherwise. I try to give voice to dreams, images, ideas and thoughts of other authors; to take unknown readers by the hand and guide them through landscapes, cities and sweet, or bitter, or violent stories.
